ক) আঠারো মাসে বছর = দীর্ঘসূত্রতা [সুমনের সব কাজে আঠারো মাসে বছর তাই তার অবস্থা এখন কঠিন।]

খ) শরতের শিশির = ক্ষণস্থায়ী বা সুসময়ের বন্ধু [জীবনে শরতের শিশির এর অভাব নেই কিন্তু প্রয়োজন হলে কাউকে পাওয়া যায়না।]

গ) নেই আঁকড়া = একগুঁয়ে [সুমন নেই আঁকড়া স্বভাবের জন্য জীবনে উন্নতি করতে পারেনি।]
