সম্প্রসারিত ভাবঃ এ পৃথিবীতে এমন অনেক তরুণ আছে যারা বয়সে তারুণ্যের অধিকারী হয়েও আচার-আচরণে, অন্ধ-বিশ্বাসে ও কর্মবিমুখতায় বৃদ্ধের সমতুল্য। পক্ষান্তরে, এমন অনেক বৃদ্ধ রয়েছেন যারা মনের দিক থেকে তারুণ্যের তেজোদীপ্ততায় ভরপুর। সুতরাং, যারা গতানুগতিক ভাবধারা ও জরাজীর্ণ পুরাতনকে, কুসংস্কারকে, মিথ্যাকে আঁকড়ে ধরে দিনাতিপাত করে তারা যে বয়সেরই হোক না কেন তারা বৃদ্ধ। এরা জীবনের মোহমায়ায় তারুণ্যের শঙ্কাহীন অভিযানে অংশগ্রহণ করে না। সমাজ ও সংস্কৃতির যুগোপযোগী পরিবর্তনকে এরা স্বাগত জানাতে জানে না। নব সূর্যের সোনালী ঊষা এদের কাম্য নয়। তাই এরা প্রত্যুষেও দ্বার রুদ্ধ করে নিদ্রায় আচ্ছন্ন থাকে, অর্থাৎ নতুন সংস্কারকে এড়িয়ে চলে। নতুনের কেতন উড়িয়ে ভুবন জয়ের পথে পাড়ি জমাতে পারে না। আধুনিকতার সাথেতাল মেলাতে অক্ষম। এরা শতাব্দীর অগ্রযাত্রায় আগুয়ান জনতার কাফেলায় কুচকাওয়াজ করতে জানে না, তারা আলোর পিয়াসী নয় বরং বিভিন্ন কুসংস্কারে বিশ্বাসী। কোন ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ কাজে তারা যেতে নারাজ।

It is expected to improve the Dhaka–Chittagong–Cox’s Bazar highway network. On 28 October 2023, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Bangabandhu Tunnel which was made available for traffic from 6 am the next day. The tunnel has been built following the “one city two towns” model like Shanghai in China. The tunnel connects the Chattogram port city on the north end of the Karnaphuli with Anwara upazila on the south of the river.
