A fills 1/5 part
B fills 1/8 part
Hole drains 1/20 part
So, in an hr basin becomes filled by
=(1/5 + 1/8 – 1/20) part
=11/40 part

B. A circular garden surrounded by a road. if the outer circumference is greater than the inner circumference by 88 m what is the width of the road?

Let, the width of the path be x meter
And radius be r meter
Circumference with path=2π(r+x)
Circumference without path=2πr

2π(r+x) – 2πr = 88
Or, 2π(r+x-r)=88

C. A microbus was hired at Tk 5500 to travel intercity. The fare is shared equally among the passengers on they day of travel, but due to absence of 5 passengers, the average fare of per person was doubled. How many people avail the service.

To be proved, a^4 + 1/a^4 = 119
LHS=a^4 + 1/a^4
=(a^2)^2 + 1/(a^2)^2
=(a^2 + 1/a^2)^2 – 2*a^2*1/a^2
={(a)^2 + (1/a)^2}^2 – 2
={(a – 1/a)^2 + 2*a*1/a}^2 – 2
={(3)^2 + 2}^2 – 2
=(11)^2 – 2
=119
RHS=119
So, LHS=RHS (Proved)

E. The sum of the ages of a mother and daughter is 60 years. Also, 5 years ago, the mother’s age was 4 times the age of the daughter. The ratio of their ages after 10 years?

y=(5*5 + 3)/2
