A) Three friends A,B and C carry all cost accordingly equal ratio. 25 guests come a party. A and B carry their cost 15 guests and 10 guests respectively. Later, C paid 5000 tk to them. What amount A and B receives from C ?

Solution:

Let,total cost=x
Each friends carry=x/3
Atq,x/3=5000
=>x=15000
Per head cost for each guest =15000/25=600
So,A friends paid=600*15=9000
He get from c ‘s money =9000-5000=4000
B friends paid =600*10=6000
He gets from C’s money=6000-5000=1000

Answer : A gets 4000 tk, B gets 1000 tk

B) A man invests a certain sum of money at 6% per annum simple interest and another sum at 7% per annum simple interest. His income from interest after 2 years was Tk. 354. One-forth of the first sum is equal to one-fifth of the second sum. The total sum invested was:

Simple Interest on Tk. x at 6% for 2 years + Simple Interest on Tk. y at 7% for 2 years = Tk. 354
