১৯৭১ সালের ৭ই মার্চ ঢাকার রেসকোর্স ময়দানে (বর্তমান সোহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যান) অনুষ্ঠিত জনসভায় শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান কর্তৃক প্রদত্ত ভাষণ এক ঐতিহাসিক ভাষণ। বাঙালিরা তাদের মহান নেতার নির্দেশের অপেক্ষায় ছিল যা ৭ই মার্চের ঐতিহাসিক ভাষণের মধ্যে প্রকাশ পায়। ১৮ মিনিট স্থায়ী এই ভাষণে বঙ্গবন্ধু বাঙালিকে স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের জন্য প্রস্তুত হওয়ার আহ্বান জানান। ভাষণটি ইতিমধ্যে ১২টি ভাষায় অনুবাদ করা হয়েছে। ৭ই মার্চের ভাষণের মাহাত্ম্য বিবেচনা করে কিউজউইক ম্যাগাজিন ১৯৭১ সালেই জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানকে রাজনীতির কবি হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়। আর ২০১৭ সালের ৩০শে অক্টোবর ইউনেস্কো এই ভাষণকে ঐতিহাসিক দলিল হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয় যা বাঙালি জাতির জন্য অহংকার। বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান কর্তৃক ৭ই মার্চের ভাষণে শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে বাঙালি জাতিকে গর্জে ওঠার আহবান জানানো হয়। জাতির জনক যার যা কিছু আছে তাই নিয়ে প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান জানান। কারণ ১৯৭০ সালের সাধারণ নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগ নিরঙ্কুশ সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা পেলেও পাকিস্তানি শাসকরা ক্ষমতা নিজেদের মধ্যে কুক্ষিগত করে রাখার চেষ্টা শুরু করে। প্রেসিডেন্ট ইয়াহিয়া খান ৩রা মার্চ জাতীয় পরিষদ আহ্বান করলেও ১লা মার্চ অপ্রত্যাশিতভাবে এই অধিবেশন অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য মুলতবি ঘোষণা করেন। প্রতিবাদে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নেতৃত্বে ২রা মার্চ ঢাকায় এবং ৩রা মার্চ সারাদেশে হরতাল পালিত হয়। ৩রা মার্চ তিনি পল্টন ময়দানে অনুষ্ঠিত এক বিশাল জনসভায় সর্বাত্মক অসহযোগ আন্দোলনের ঘোষণা দেন। ৭ই মার্চের ঐতিহাসিক ভাষণটি অসহযোগ আন্দোলনের মধ্যেই প্রদান করা হয়েছিল। ভাষণটিতে ৪টি দাবি তুলে ধরা হয় যা ছিল, নির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধিদের কাছে ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তর, হত্যার সুষ্ঠু বিচার, সামরিক বাহিনীকে ব্যারাকে ফিরে যাওয়া, সামরিক আইন প্রত্যাহারের আহ্বান। বঙ্গবন্ধু বাঙালির বদনাম যেন না হয় সে বিষয়েও ভাষণটিতে সতর্ক করেছেন। ভাষণটির প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। প্রতিটি কথা বিশ্লেষণধর্মী। বাঙালি জাতির স্বাধীনতার পরোক্ষ ঘোষণা ছিল ৭ই মার্চের ভাষণ। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার মূলমন্ত্রই ছিল ৭ই মার্চের ঐতিহাসিক ভাষণ। বাঙালি জাতির জনকের দেওয়া এই ঐতিহাসিক ভাষণটি সর্বকালের সেরা ভাষণ হিসেবে সারাবিশ্বে আলোচিত এর ফলস্বরূপ ইউনেস্কো এই ভাষণকে ঐতিহাসিক দলিল হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়।

Coronaviruses are a large family of respiratory viruses that can cause illness in people and animals. In rare cases, coronaviruses that circulate among animals can evolve and infect humans. In turn, these infections can easily spread from person-to-person as was the case with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV) and Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV). An outbreak of the novel (new) coronavirus was first reported in December 2019 when cases of viral pneumonia with unknown origin were confirmed in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Because of its similarity to SARS-CoV, the virus has been named: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This virus causes the disease referred to as COVID-19 – Coronavirus disease 2019. Similar to other coronaviruses SARS-CoV-2 is suspected to have come from animals, potentially bats. The virus is primarily transmitted from person-to-person by coming into contact with an infected person’s droplets. When an infected person coughs, sneezes or exhales, droplets are expelled and can land in another person’s nose or mouth and inhaled into the lungs. The virus can be transmitted by an infected person not showing symptoms of illness. This is why it’s important to stay at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart. The most common symptoms include flu-like symptoms such as fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Symptoms can also include chills and repeated shaking, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and loss of sense of taste or smell. Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol where soap and water are not available. Avoid close contact with those who appear sick. Avoid touching your face.
